Homemade pizza

Or almost homemade. I do cheat and use purchased pizza dough, it’s waaay simpler than doing it myself. Once you try this, it’s hard to go back to restaurant pizza. My secret: the stone.

Ingredients

1 pizza dough – thawed at room temperature (see below)
1 small can pizza sauce
mozzarella cheese
fresh basil

Your favorite toppings:
pepperoni
bell pepper
mushrooms

corn flour
all purpose flour

How to thaw the dough: remove from the plastic bag and put it on the counter/working table (where you will work the dough later). Put a plastic wrap around it to avoid making a crust. It will take about 2-3 hours minimum (depending on your room temperature).

Instructions

Put the pizza stone in the oven. Then preheat oven to 425 degrees.

On a large wood board sprinkle corn flour and all-purpose flour.

Prepare your toppings: cut mushrooms and cook them in a pan to remove some of their water. You can do same with the pepperoni.

Extend the dough until it’s the size and shape you want. Transfer it to the wood board. Quickly brush the pizza sauce, then add pepperoni, peppers and mushrooms.
Add mozzarella cheese.

Pull the oven rack with the pizza oven. Transfer the pizza to the pizza stone, using heat resistant spatulas. Cook for 10-15min or until desired crustiness.

Serve with fresh basil.

Bon appetit
