You might ask why do a blog on food, there are soo many already, right? True, there are, but the question is how many are actually good?

As many of you did, Covid-19 changed my life. I decided to move out of the big city and live in a cabin somewhere in the middle of nowehere, where of course there is no UberEats or Foodora or any other food delivery platform. Before Covid there were a few restaurants delivering food at home, but like everywhere else, Covid changed that. So the “less than 5” restaurants who were delivering food at home before the craziness started…. well, turned into a single “restaurant”. And guess what, it wasn’t one of the good ones (hence the quotes) in terms of food quality but also not much options to chose from.

Well, what alternatives you have? You invite an uncle who loves cooking and then you discovered through him that cooking can actually be fun and not as complicated or super time consuming as I thought before. You watch him how search through his giant list of printed recipes with all kind of written adjustments on it, he picks one and then starts adjusting it on the spot based on everyone’s taste.

Well, if he could do it, so can I, right? Perhaps I should mention he used to work as a cook in a restaurant for a few years but hey, we all have to start somewhere.

Why my blog will be different?

First of all, I plan to try a new recipe every day, to get a variety of food ideas from all kind of cuisines. Spoiler alert: I like Asian food, so you might see more than normal.

Second, not all my recipes will actually have measurements. In Romanian cuisine for example, we don’t measure the ingredients much, except for dessert. So my blog is really for people that want to experiment and change recipes to their tasting.
